Aims
In many parts of the country, the fabric that binds our society together seems to be breaking down. While this is often the perception, the fact is is that there is still a tremendous amount of community spirit in our country.
The sheer number of volunteers that came forward during the recent covid-19 pandemic has proved this, and now more than ever, we need to keep this momentum going.
After all, every child and young adult will make up part of the future of Don Valley. Therefore, it is imperative that they have dreams and goals while also knowing how to achieve them. They must also understand the importance of how we treat one another and need to respect where they live.
Furthermore, for individuals and our community to succeed, it should be recognised that being kind should be the norm – whether we are dealing with people face-to-face, or online. Finally, we should know that being able to forgive ourselves and others for past mistakes is the only way we can ensure our communities thrive in the future.
Some of these actions will be easy for some and not for others, and even Role Models themselves may struggle at times. Yet everything in life that is worth achieving is worth the effort. To get our young people to achieve their goals and then eventually help others achieve theirs is our objective.
The only qualification for submission is that you care and want to make a difference in someone’s life.
